About Nicole

A Little About Me

I’m Nicole Babb, a licensed marriage and family therapist and the founder of Sonoran Sky Family Therapy. My passion for helping couples and families navigate life’s challenges stems from a deep belief in the power of relationships to shape who we are and who we become. Relationships are where we grow, where we feel joy, and where we sometimes face our greatest struggles. But it’s also through relationships that we can find healing, connection, and a sense of belonging.

As a PhD candidate in developmental psychology, I’ve spent years studying how attachment, early experiences, and family dynamics influence us across the lifespan. I integrate this knowledge into my therapeutic work, using a psychodynamic approach to help my clients understand how their past is impacting their present and how they can create healthier patterns moving forward.

But beyond the textbooks and theories, I understand what it’s like to face the messiness of relationships firsthand. I’m a mom, wife, and someone who’s passionate about the importance of community and connection. I believe that the best work in therapy happens when we can show up authentically—with all of our imperfections—and start building from a place of honesty and understanding.

What It’s Like to Work with Me

I believe in creating a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Therapy with me is collaborative—I’ll walk alongside you, helping you uncover patterns, navigate challenges, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others. My goal is to support you in not only working through the challenges you’re facing but in building a stronger, more connected relationship with yourself and your loved ones.

Let’s Connect

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your family, I’m here to help. Therapy is a space where you can feel seen, understood, and supported in a way that allows you to make lasting changes. I’d be honored to walk with you on that journey.

A Safe Space for Growth

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that every relationship is unique and deserves a compassionate, personalized approach. Life can be challenging, and relationships can feel especially difficult at times, but it’s within these moments that growth and healing become possible. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where individuals, couples, and families can openly explore their concerns and discover new ways to communicate, reconnect, and thrive.

My Approach

I practice therapy through a unique blend of psychodynamic principles, attachment theory, and neuroscience, allowing us to explore not just what’s happening in the present but also how past experiences and learned patterns shape the way you connect with others today. Our work will involve examining the deep-rooted emotions and relational dynamics that influence your current interactions, providing insight into automatic responses and behaviors.

Couples & Family Therapy

  • Coulpes Therapy

Relationships can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when communication breaks down or conflict becomes a constant presence. In couples therapy, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where both partners can express themselves, truly listen, and feel heard. Together, we’ll identify the patterns keeping you stuck and explore new ways to reconnect and strengthen your relationship.

Whether you’re facing ongoing challenges such as communication issues, emotional disconnection, or intimacy struggles, or navigating specific events like infidelity or major life transitions, couples therapy can help you rebuild trust and create a stronger bond.

I specialize in helping couples with:

    • Enhancing communication and understanding

    • Navigating conflict without escalation

    • Restoring emotional and physical intimacy

    • Managing major life transitions

    • Building a foundation for long-term connection

It’s possible to feel close again, even after periods of distance or difficulty. My goal is to guide you in creating a relationship that feels supportive, loving, and aligned with both partners' needs.

  • Family Therapy

Every family has its unique dynamics, and sometimes those dynamics can become difficult to manage on your own. Family therapy offers an opportunity to explore and address ongoing challenges, whether it’s miscommunication, conflict, or transitions like divorce or blended family integration.

I work with families to strengthen their relationships by providing tools to improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, and promote a deeper understanding of each member’s experiences. Whether your family is struggling with constant disagreements or you’re navigating a significant life event, family therapy can help you find a new path forward.

Family therapy can support you through:

    • Improving communication between parents and children

    • Managing conflict and misunderstandings

    • Navigating separation or divorce

    • Blending families and adjusting to new roles

    • Supporting children or teens through emotional struggles

Your family’s relationships can grow stronger, even in times of conflict. Together, we’ll work to create a space where each family member feels heard, respected, and valued.
